Do Peter Wright anvils have a 0 when it is under 112 pounds I wonder if it would be blank, or a 0. I took a primary smith course and studied under a true master, Frank Turley. He has only recorded 11 Henry Wright anvils as of 1995 and says that the weight in most cases is in actual pounds. The author believes the company was started in the late 1880's and lasted until about 1914. just for comparison a NC Tool 112 Cavalry anvil is 440.00 (3.92 per pound) and a peddinghaus 275. 5.00 a pound is more than I would go but that just me. I have been in the metal trades for many years and am a journeyman pipe welder and an accomplished metal artist. He says that Henry Wright's anvil looks just like the Peter Wright anvil in every respect and that the finish appears to be good. I picked up 100 pound PW for around 300.00 in South Texas in OK shape, but that was after having feelers out for a couple of years among folks that have a natural ability for finding anvils. The earliest PWs were of the multiple piece. In Anvils in America Richard Postman seems to give 1910 as the year PW started stamping ENGLAND on their anvils. I'm not a purist so I'm not familiar with all the facts and terminology of the blacksmith trade, that's why I became a member of this site to get expert advice. The weight is in the very common portable anvil range used by farriers, farmers and in small shops. It is in very good condition with minor edge chipping, a little sway, the original finish and no signs of repair. These small vintage anvils were made Reading Anvil Weight. This is a perfect example of a Peter Wright anvil. Occasionally stamps were put on upside down. Perhaps when someone did your's they simply forgot where to put the SOLID WROUGHT circle or the weight. If ENGLAND is added, then late 1880 to early 1900s.
